Oskiljaktiga: Olofsfors bruk (2014)
Digital print on silk
The piece is sprung from (or a variation of ) my BA exam project "Apparently Obscure". Read more about that project here.
About the process:
I'm alone in a dark room with a projector and a camera. The camera is placed on a stand. An image of my face is projected onto the wall and I stand in front of it. The camera can take ten pictures in a row, seven with short intervals in between, then three with somewhat longer intervals. I don't have a remote switch, but stand next to the camera and push the shutter release. Ten seconds to get into the right position. Standing there with the light from the projector in my face, I can't see how it looks from an outside perspective. I grimace. Screaming without sound, my cheast and shoulders vibrate. I play with the projected image. Trying to fit, almost rather than perfect. Through this distortion new pictures are developed.
Pictures from the exhibition "Vi och ni som undrar varför" at Olofsfors bruk, july 2014.
