The Bird Coat (only a piece of holy cloth): Kaunas Biennial - TEXTILE'11, Lithuania (2011)

Linen cloth and woven intarsia

Woven intarsia is a tapestry method where I remove the weft in an area of a cloth and use the released warp to weave a new weft. It allows me to change the structure of the fabric. To destruct in order to mend it again. During the process I reflected upon the relation I had to a coat (the Bird Coat) and what I felt when I lost it. In the process I was spiritualizing the material as well as materializing the spiritual.
